Compassion Refresh Camp

A 2-day and 2-night course in the Australian bush to reconnect your compassion and empathy for stronger relationships.

We all have an innate compassion within us, but somewhere along the way, we may have forgotten it through our education and upbringing.

The Compassion Refresh Camp is 2 days and 2 nights bushwalk in the Heathcote National Park (located near Sydney, Australia). You’ll meet like-minded people and engage in activities to help remind you of your natural state of compassion.


By leaving our phones, work and domestic lives behind for a weekend, we can disconnect electronically to reconnect emotionally. Over the course, we’ll also cover strategies for bringing these principles back with you to incorporate into everyday life.

Is the Compassion Refresh Camp right for me?

The Compassion Refresh Camp isn’t for everyone. Read on to find out if this course is a good fit for your circumstances.


Compassion Refresh Camp is right for you if:

  • You want to create a more compassionate lifestyle and environment.
  • You are comfortable hiking and enjoy the outdoors.
  • You have equipment for 2 days and 2 nights of hiking.
  • You’re interested in practising ways to become less reactive, more content and happy in your everyday interactions.


Compassion Refresh Camp is not right for you if:

  • You’re interested in a more advanced study of compassion or empathy based practices.

What can I expect from the camp?

The course program is designed to cover the basics of compassionate communication. There’s nothing new here; we can all relate to these fundamental principles of empathy and compassion.

While walking along the beautiful bush trail, we’ll regularly stop to do activities, exercises and have discussions. Some of the places we stop afford the opportunity for swimming and relaxing, which is encouraged. For the entire camp, you’ll also have access to my brain, and I implore you to pick it, asking as many questions as you like.

The weekend will allow you the chance to share elements of your own lives and experiences. While this may seem scary at first, we endeavour to foster a supportive and accepting environment. By sharing yourself, you’ll have a greater potential to grow.

The camp is not meant to be a strenuous physical activity, however, hiking can present its difficulties. These difficulties and tensions are a fantastic opportunity for us to put into practice the compassionate communication techniques we’re learning.

  • Guidance regarding specific issues you might have.
  • Hiking through the bush.
  • Swimming and free time for relaxation.
